Automatic Negative Thoughts (or ANTs, as I like to call them!) are the thoughts that pop into your head immediately when something happens to you or around you. They are rooted in what we call cognitive distortions. Cognitive distortions are thoughts that your mind convinces are true, even though they are not. They often reinforce negative emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Learning about cognitive distortions and ANTs can help you move towards Wise Mind!
